No. We are not affiliated with any other organizations or travel agencies.

What are some basic Nepali phrases I should know?

A few useful words go a long way:

  • Namaste — hello / respectful greeting
  • Dhanyabad — thank you
  • Pheri Bhetaula — see you again
What kind of food can I expect on a trek? Is the water safe to drink?

Expect hearty staples like Dal Bhat (lentils, rice, vegetables) along the trail. For water, we strongly recommend using a water filter or purification tablets rather than drinking untreated water from streams or taps.

What is Acute Altitude Sickness (AMS) and how can I prevent it?

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is your body's reaction to lower oxygen at high elevations. AMS is not a sign of poor fitness — it can affect anyone, regardless of age or condition.

Common early symptoms

  • Headache
  • Nausea or loss of appetite
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue or unusual tiredness

Golden rules for prevention

  1. Go slow (acclimatize): our itineraries use gradual ascents and rest days. Never rush.
  2. Stay hydrated: drink 3–4 L of water daily. Avoid alcohol.
  3. Listen to your body: mild headache may be normal — persistent or worsening symptoms are not.

If you feel symptoms

  1. Tell your guide immediately. Don't hide it or tough it out.
  2. Do not go higher. Rest at current altitude.
  3. If symptoms don't improve or get worse, descend. Descent is the only effective cure.
Is Nepal a safe country for tourists? What about for solo female travelers?

Absolutely. Nepal is known as a very safe destination, largely thanks to the warm, hospitable nature of Nepali people. Violent crime against tourists is extremely rare — solo women travelers generally feel comfortable and welcomed.

Use common sense: watch your belongings in busy areas like Kathmandu's Thamel to avoid petty theft. For female travelers, modest dress (covering shoulders and knees) shows cultural respect and keeps interactions positive.

Two crucial safety rules: do not walk alone at night, especially in unfamiliar or poorly lit areas; on the trail, always follow official signage and never enter restricted areas without permits and your guide.

Can I book a tour with East Nepal?

We don't offer booking directly. The website showcases East Nepal's natural beauty, cultural diversity, and adventure activities — for inspiration and information only.
